Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Portfolio.ph ("the Platform") is a free digital portfolio for Filipino learners, operated by John Raymond C. Ledesma. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We handle personal data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
For any privacy question or request, contact raymondledesma1991@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your email address and password (passwords are encrypted and never visible to anyone, including us).
- Profile information you provide: your name, school or institution, role, course/track, graduation year, a short bio, an optional profile photo, and any contact or social links you choose to add.
- Your birthdate, used only to determine whether you are 18 or older. Your birthdate is never shown on your public portfolio and cannot be read by other users.
- Portfolio content: the evidence items, descriptions, skills, links, and files you add.
- Basic usage data: a count of how many times your portfolio has been viewed (visible only to you).
2. What becomes visible when you publish
Everything you add is private by default. Nothing is shown to anyone until you deliberately change your visibility. You have three settings:
- Private — only you can see your portfolio.
- Link only — anyone with your link can view it, but it is not listed or indexed by search engines.
- Public — your portfolio is discoverable in search and by search engines.
When you make your portfolio public or share it by link, the following become visible to viewers: your name, school, role, course/track, graduation year, bio, profile photo, any contact or social links you added, and the items you have individually marked as visible. Your birthdate and login email are never shown.
3. Protection for learners under 18
We take extra care with the data of minors. If the birthdate you provide indicates you are under 18, the Platform does not allow your portfolio to be listed publicly or indexed by search engines. You may still keep it private or share it by private link with people you choose, such as a teacher or a scholarship committee.
We encourage learners under 18 to use the Platform with the awareness of a parent, guardian, or teacher. If you are a parent or guardian and wish to review or request deletion of a minor's data, contact us at the email above.
Please note: age is based on the birthdate a user provides. We cannot independently verify a user's true age, so honest information keeps these protections working as intended.
4. How we use your data
We use your data only to operate the Platform: to create and display your portfolio according to your visibility choices, to secure your account, to send essential account emails (such as email confirmation and password resets), and, if you choose to use it, to process a resume you upload through our optional AI import feature. We do not sell your data, and we do not show third-party advertising.
5. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Edit your profile and content anytime from your dashboard;
- Change your visibility back to private at any moment, which immediately removes public access;
- Delete your account and all associated data from your Settings page — this is permanent.
6. Where your data is stored
The Platform runs on trusted third-party infrastructure (including Supabase for the database and Vercel for hosting), which may store data on servers outside the Philippines. These providers maintain industry-standard security. Files and personal data are protected by access controls so that private content stays private.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Platform grows. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
